First release!

Here at Urban Pigs Press we are delighted to announce the impending release of our first book. Life in Dirt is a collection of short stories from our very own James Jenkins. As promised, we are starting small and building from there. This is why we have chosen to use James as a Guinea pig. This is our first foray into the publishing world and hopefully the start of something great.

Once we have successfully released Life in Dirt both in ebook and paper versions, Urban Pigs Press will be moving forward to release a charity anthology. We will soon begin to put out open calls for writers who want to contribute to this collection of works.

In the meantime, please follow us and subscribe for our official release date of Life in Dirt!

A hard-hitting collection of equally gritty and compelling stories. Jenkins has harvested his finest pieces from across his journey into the darkest reaches of his imagination. True brit grit delivered on an indigestible platter combining filthy realism with tones of dark humour. From twisted gangland gratuitous violence to the litter addled riverbanks, Jenkins probes at our worst fears and exposes the pitfalls of toxic masculinity.

“Simple Britishness and quintessentially approved ideology slowly tears itself apart in this fast paced and gripping collection, exposing the British Isles and all its darlings across a glass written, and played, so very darkly.”

We would like to thank each and everyone one of you who have supported us so far. Both of us have been overwhelmed by the response we’ve received from you. Our inbox has been exploding with quality submissions for our short fiction call Terror in Suburbia. Bam has been busy reading through each and every one and we look forward to sharing them with you over the month of October. (Window closes tomorrow 29/09/2023).

I reserve a special thank you to Cody Sexton – A Thin Slice of Anxiety and Anxiety Press for the endless help, advice and frankly draw-dropping artwork.

Best,

Jenks and Bam
