About

Urban Pigs Press is an independent (currently) not for profit indie publisher of fiction. Founded by Ipswich-based authors James Jenkins and Bam Barrow.

This is very much the beginning of our journey, but we hope to create a vibrant press to promote and support the best talents in the literary scene. Although our primary goal is to release books and anthologies, Urban Pigs Press will be hoping to run open calls for short fiction in the near future. These stories will be released on our site as part of the zine.

James Jenkins – Editor

James Jenkins lives in Ipswich with his wife and children. He is a writer of gritty realism, dark humour and noir. His debut novel Parochial Pigs is available on Amazon and published by Alien Buddha Press. The sequel Sun Bleached Scarecrows is available from Anxiety Press and Amazon. The third book in the Pigs series, The Swine, The Pig and The Porker is due for release with AP early 2024. He also has a number of short stories published both online and in print.

Colin Woodgate – Book Reviews

Colin lives in Suffolk with his wife and children. He has been chosen by Urban Pigs as our own book reviewer due to his tireless commitment in following and reading authors from the indie community. Colin is very much the reader that we as indie authors are aiming our audience at. We believe that readers give the best and most honest opinions when it comes to writing. This is why we have chosen a reader and not a writer to review your books.
