Sex Robots Must Die by A. J. Stanton

Davlav is experiencing an existential crisis. He is tired of his job at the robotic sex palace, he’s in love with one of the workers, and now he’s caught up in a war between the Federal government and a group of rebels. To make matters worse, he isn’t sure what’s real anymore and can’t even afford the drugs he likes.
Colin’s review

AJ Stanton is very much trying to predict the future with this book, a terrifying reality with a big social following and a love for chicken nuggets. It is a quick read with short chapters full of of dark humour and razor sharp wit. Not a story to be taken too seriously… but then George Orwell could’ve said the same about 1984!
Have some fun and treat yourself to this great example of the quality in the indie community.
Editor’s note
AJ Stanton really is one of the hidden gems in the writing community. I remember seeing the front cover and title of Sex Robots and knew it would be a little bit of me. There’s a dry humour in his works and as a great lover of Ben Elton I instantly warmed to Stanton’s intelligent observations on modern culture. Just like Elton, AJ has the ability to cleverly peer into the future and give the reader a believable insight into our future generations. All this with a sense of humour sharper than a butcher’s hatchet. This skill certainly isn’t confounded to the above title. Stanton’s short fiction carries much of the same weight and displays it for us all to see in vignettes such as The King & His Worm and Garry Kasparov’s Cock. I’m hungry for more of Art’s expertly crafted style and can’t wait for the future novel that was quietly mentioned. Whenever that time comes, you can bet there will be a full review here at Urban Pigs Press.
