Here at Urban Pigs Press we just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who sent us their writing for the HUNGER anthology. It is incredible what people’s minds can conjure with a one-word prompt. This made our job incredibly fun and very worthwhile. It’s fair to say that we were totally overwhelmed by the number of submissions that rolled in and the sheer amount of quality. For a new press we are very grateful to the writing community for trusting us with their work. We hope to do everybody proud and produce a quality anthology for a charity we feel incredibly passionate about.

Bam and I found it a near impossible task to decide on which of those stories were successful. Making those decisions should never be taken lightly and sending out rejections has easily been the lowest point of our time as editors. Most of those we turned down would have been accepted to the zine such was the quality of writing.

We look forward to updating you all with a release date and of course sooner than that, the cover reveal. We have already received artwork from Cody Sexton for the inlay and I’ve had a sneak peek at Jo Andrew’s cover. I can’t wait to show it off! Andrew Marsh of Dial Lane Books is currently busy writing a foreword to complete our creation.

Writing community, you are a truly humbling lot. I can’t thank you enough for your kindness in helping us support those families in times of real need.
