A slight set back for one of our Pigs, but nothing is going to stop these fellas from reaching that summit. I would join them but I also gave my bib to Emily… Emily… Emily! Just take this from me! Jokes aside though, I can feel Kieren’s pain, I only had to run round the block to put me off. Imagine having to run a half marathon to find that out!
Keep it up you kind hearted, loveable and far better toned (than me) rogues!

Colin and Kieren’s Story
I haven’t been looking forward to this month as I had planned minor surgery just below my right knee. This meant I had to pull out of the Colchester Half Marathon. I gave my bib number to Emily who used the race distance as part of her London Marathon training.
I was determined to try and squeeze in the half marathon distance before going under the knife. So on the 4th March at 6:30 I went for my 1st of 3 runs, 5.2km. At lunchtime I completed a further 5.5km. 4 hours later my 3rd run was an 11.5km commute home from work, totalling just over 22km. All 3 runs matching my half marathon Pb pace. The following day was my minor surgery which will inevitably keep me out of action for 6 weeks.
Kieren managed an 8km run on the 5th as a warm up for the Colchester Half Marathon. On the 8th March he completed the Half in an impressive 1 hour 34 minutes. His initial reaction was “that’s put me off running” and “makes you realise how important training is”.
This reaction was due to only running 36km in February. He has stepped things up this month totalling over 112km plus 11 gym sessions.
On our monthly schedule we had planned a 30km run along the King Charles III coastline between Aldeburgh and Dunwich. Due to having my op we rearranged this to a 20km hike. But again this didn’t go ahead due to complications. It’s a route we both still want to do and we will try to squeeze it in somewhere before June.

We know things are pretty tight. Even if you are reading this then we already appreciate your support. But if you can spare a few pennies to support this great cause, it would be greatly received. If not, how about sharing this story with someone else?
Thank you! From all of the Pigs x
